as per normal there will be no reply the temperature in reigate is 2.3 but u are reporting 10 do u think the uk population are that incompetent that they can not tell what the temperature is,  it is only a matter of time before things get more extreme due to the bp oil spill, that you and the government will not be able to bull shit the general public any more. would it not be more productive to prepare them to what is happening rather than hide the fact that we are entering into a mini ice age at best.i will be posting this mail fore all to see on the internet and hopefully i will inform the public, and this is what you should be doing!!!!!!!!!
Dear Dan,
Thank you for your email.
In reference to your enquiry, the information found on the website is not showing 10C as the temperature, as it is showing 4.9C as of 8pm (2000hrs) this evening.  However, the temperatures are rapidly dropping and the lastest observation (which is taken from Charlwood) is showing 2.5C at 8:30pm.
If you would care to refresh your web browser, you will see the latest information, rather looking at cached (old) information - you can clear your cache by pressing your F5 key together with your CTRL key.
In reference to the mini ice age - the Met Office cannot offer any comment on this subject.  However, what we do say is:
Natural sources, such as tree rings and glaciers, as well as human records, show that climate has changed significantly over the past few hundred years. There was a relatively warm period in Europe during the 14th century, followed by a quite sudden change to cooler conditions in the 15th century. This extended into the Little Ice Age of the 17th and 18th centuries, followed by a warming trend that has recently accelerated. The evidence for this recent warming comes largely from direct measurements of temperature.
In the more temperate northern latitudes, winters are less severe than 30 years ago, with cold snaps generally being short-lived.
I hope this information helps.
Kind Regards,
Tim Hill

when i checked the temp i looked at the metoffice in real time and my temp gauge was sitting next to me, he is talking out of his ass!!! lol lets see what the reply is from the next email probably nothing!!!!

i am fully aware of the history of the weather and global temperatures as i have been researching for over 12 years, but what i find interesting is the fact that the met office web site is not displaying the correct temperatures on your up to date and time reports, but saying that i should not be that surprised, the fact is the weather has become more erratic and the rain belts have changed due to the slow down of the north Atlantic current causing blocking affects on the jet streams, at the moment the uk has a patch of high pressure sitting over us that is causing the lower temperatures and the information of 10c has come directly from your site in real time, with regards to the mini ice age if you look at all relevant data and information ie low solar activity, bp oil spill and the destruction of the gulf stream, the fact that the north Atlantic current has been slowing down over the last ten years and the amount of oil and dispersant that has been pumped into the gom and relevantly added to the destruction of the ocean currents, you will find that this winter and following winters will be extreme, and as reported from Russia on main stream media that this winter will be the worst for 1000 years that would bypass the the little ice age that you are referring to. as much as the government does not want to cause panic, that is completely understandable, and as the met office is funded and run by the government there will never be a straight answer, but as you and the government are funded by the general public you would think you would report to the public not hide the information!!!!
