A powerful storm system lashed out at the United Kingdom Monday and Tuesday, leaving behind widespread flooding and nearly a half of foot of snow in some places.AccuWeather.com forecasters expect a second storm system to bring even more wintry weather on Thursday.
Tropical storm-force winds hit the island as heavy rain flooded roadways and caused evacuations across portions of Wales and England. At least 14 flood warnings were issued by the Met Office, while numerous other severe weather warnings were in effect.
Across the region, motorists are being advised to be cautious with debris covering roadways and slick roadways.

In some areas, boats were required to rescue stranded residents. Meanwhile, the Automobile Association, AA, reported more than 13,000 auto incidents, up from the normal 11,000 for this time of the season.
Farther north, nearly half of a foot of snow closed roads across Scotland's Highlands and stranded motorists.
The snow wasn't all bad news though as ski areas welcomed the start of the season. Last year, these resorts weren't able to open until the end of the month.
After a break from the weather today, another storm system will hit the region on Thursday. Damaging winds, heavy rain and mountain snow is once again expected.

December and January are statistically the stormiest months in the UK, bringing wind, rain, thunder, lightning and even flash flooding to our shores.Consequently, they are also the most likely months for your home and garden to suffer storm damage, which could prove costly if your home insurance does not cover any repairs.
Most big storms are made up of a combination of wind and rain, which is why December and January are such storm hotspots.
According to the Met Office, the wettest month in the UK is December, with an average of 124.88 mm of rainfall.
December is also the month with the lowest mean sea level pressure, which can be used as an indicator of storminess.
And the windiest month of the year is January with an average wind speed of 11.8 knots.

The average cost of repairs to homes damaged by the wind or rain is £660.
That's according to figures from M&S Money, which is urging householders to make sure they have sufficient home insurance cover to provide financial assistance in the event of storm damage.

Firstly, I questioned that you consider the predictions of the Mayan Calendar expert Dr. Carl Johan Calleman. In his most recent article, Calleman declares that we will enter the thirteenth energy or seventh day of the Galactic Underworld between November 2 and November 7. Calleman believes that this movement from the sixth night, will ultimately result in a spiritual evolution away from the construct of the military and financial control of Western Civilization towards a global “consciousness shift.”

Secondly, consider Clif High and the Webbot Project, who also prognosticated the events that unfolded into the global economic meltdown, and who are now projecting based on the data from their predictive linguistics technology that an emotional tension level is growing and will escalate from November 5th to release on November 14. High calls this release the “Tipping Point.”

In High’s previous forecast, he had originally calculated that an escalation of “release language of events” starting on July 11 2010 and culminating in a “Tipping Point” between November 8th and 11th. He also indicated that the catalyst for this “Tipping Point,” was an Israel attack on Iran that would result in a Middle East War.

Using numerological formula and astronomical alignments to calculate the interconnectedness of the universe over time and history, the Timewave Zero program pinpoints this November time period also as a “Tipping Point,” that eventually leads to what McKenna termed “the singularity of infinite complexity in 2012 – at which point anything and everything imaginable will occur simultaneously.” According to McKenna, this theory was derived from extraterrestrial beings who instructed him during a psychedelic channeling experiment in the Amazon jungle of Colombia in 1971, about the King Wen sequence of I-Ching hexagrams. Instructions that allowed him to see the relationship of the transformation of numbers on time, history and the end of history.

These concepts matches up perfectly with that of the ancient mythological text such as that of the Vedic’s teachings on world ages and with the wide range of religious and eschatological beliefs about tumultuous and transformative events that will lead to a cataclysmic apocalypse and the heralding of a messianic savior entity to finally usher in a Golden Age. Using the King Wen – Watkins sequence of the Timewave Zero Calculator software, I inserted the month of June as my Start Date and December as my End Date for 2010. The chart result is essentially the same as that of the Webbot Project illustrating a “Tipping Point” that starts from November 12 through November 24 and contines in a downward motion resembling the Webbot’s two months of continuing release language into 2011.

In a previous article on the Pervasive Memes of the Extraterrestrial Invasion Narrative, I indicated how this concrescence of release language around cataclysmic events, return of a messianic entity and a Golden Age is coalescing around the Hegelian dialectic of order out of chaos from fake flag events like terrorism and world wars. In that piece, I indicated how a Israeli-Iranian war and a possible wider Middle East war would fulfill President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s fervent prayer for the return of the Hidden Imam, the Mahdi. I wrote:

This runs in parallel with High’s forecast of the convergence of release language of events from July to November when you consider the following: Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has mobilized forces to its northern border including tanks and anti-aircraft units; Israel bought 284 million gallons of JP-8 jet fuel, 60 million of unleaded gasoline and 100 billion gallons of diesel fuel valued at US$2billion; the United States is amassing numerous warships and unspecified number of nuclear submarines in the Persian Gulf; Israeli Air Force is currently using military bases in Saudi Arabia, landing choppers and unloading military gear as well as training pilots in Turkey and smuggling planes into Georgia using Turkish airspace; American forces building up in Azerbaijan; Iran’s fueling of rods into the Bushehr nuclear power plant; the deployment of the Stuxnet computer worm by Israel to target critical industrial and weapon infrastructure of Iran; the establishment of 15,000 military computer networks to formulate the American Cyberwar Command; the successful simulation exercise of an all-out European cyber warfare attack; Al Qaeda’s operational abilities to launch terrorist attacks from Yemen; and American forces full operational and strategic occupancy of Afghanistan and Iraq.
Now, according to High’s interpretation of the Webbot Project’s data, the “Tipping Point” and the transformative events that will follow, should be catalyzed by an Israeli mistake that could result in a Middle East war with Iran. Now, given that President Obama has just been “shellacked” by the Republicans in the US mid-term elections, it is obvious that his firm stance against Israel’s aggressive position is now weakened. Which makes this an opportune time for Israel to attack Iran. But, it is also a brilliant chance for Obama to revive the fledgling US economy and save his presidency by going to war with Iran. Sounds ludicrous, right? Well, that is the thinking of Zionists like the talk show pundit and writer for the Washington Post, David Broder, who recently declared the following in an editorial piece:
“Obama can still storm back to win a second term in 2012… Look back at FDR and the Fantastic Depression. What finally resolved that economic crisis? World War II… With strong Republican support in Congress for challenging Iran’s ambition to become a nuclear power, he can spend much of 2011 and 2012 orchestrating a showdown with the mullahs… as tensions rise and we accelerate preparations for war, the economy will improve… the nation will rally around Obama because Iran is the greatest threat to the world… If he can confront this threat and contain Iran’s nuclear ambitions, he will have made the world safer and may be regarded as one of the most successful presidents in history.”Therefore, it is not hard to see where this is going. Is it? Reveling in the Republican’s historic mid-term election victories and in perfect alignment with Broder, Senator Lindsey Graham said his fellow conservatives would support “bold” action to deal with Iran and that if President Obama “decides to be tough with Iran beyond sanctions, I reckon he is going to feel a lot of Republican support for the thought that we cannot let Iran develop a nuclear weapon,” he told the Halifax International Security Forum. In an obvious drum-beat for the war with Iran, he further added that, “The last thing America wants is another military conflict, but the last thing the world needs is a nuclear-armed Iran… containment is off the table… not to just neutralize their nuclear program, but to sink their navy, ruin their air force and deliver a decisive blow to the Revolutionary Guard, in other words neuter that regime.”

Maybe, that is the reason why Obama has undertaken such a massive operation in his 10-day trip to Southeast Asia, stopping in his boyhood home of Indonesia, as well as in India. Obama’s trip falls perfectly into the “Tipping Point” window, since he left on the 6th and will return on the 16th. According to rumored reports that the White House and the Pentagon have not properly or evidentially refuted, the trip will cost Americans $200 million per day, 34 warships, 65 airplanes, a fleet of limousines, state-of-the-art aircraft carrier and communications set-up, the nuclear button and over three thousand persons including the majority of the White House staff and the Secret Service. This trip is historic and constitutes the most unprecedented and expensive one in the history of the American presidency, leading many to question if Obama is really moving the White House to India?

Simply place, they are taking emergency items that are currently centralized in Washington, D.C., and distributing them nationally. Sort of like a mobilization of suppies. But ready for What?”Deitrich goes on to add through anecdotal evidence that Homeland Security have been rapidly purchasing and accumulating food, water and supplies from freeze dried food manufacturers, private bunker construction firms, and multiple storage facilities across the United States to be stored away in underground bunkers.
In a recent interview with talk show host Alex Jones, the ordained pastor Lindsey Williams revealed that the Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano let the cat out of the bag, regarding the plans of the Global Elites, when she told a confidante to buy at least six months supply of food and water because something major is going to happen in America. It would be simple to throw Lindsey’s words out the window as rumors, had it not been for his success rate of predicting events. Through the reception of insider information, he was able to predict correctly, the collapse in the price of oil when oil was near its peak and also the global economic collapse in 2008.
In addition to this, author and researcher Steve Quayle is reporting several weird deployments of US Marshals over the last couple of weeks:

One report mentions 20 super luxury vessels leaving out of an harbor at once. It is estimated that each vessel ranged between 75 to nearly 200 feet in length. This corresponds with additional reports of wealthy families moving their money and assets out of the United States. There are also reports of emergency request for additional verification from the major banking sectors about rumors of banking shutdowns and bank holidays. This comes against the background of the worldwide condemnation of the United States Federal Reserve to buy back $600 billion dollar’s worth of treasury bonds, which will continue to decrease the value of each existing dollar. Several analysts believe that the $900 billion dollars insertion into the financial system by the Federal Reserve will result in a 20 percent decline in the US dollar. On top of that a recent United Nations report issued on Tuesday called for the abandonment of the dollar as the main global reserve currency due to its inability to safeguard value. This fits in perfectly with High’s, Calleman’s and McKenna’s projection of the collapse of the dollar and the dissolution of the American dominance.

Incidentally, the logo for CERN bears three 6s on it, 666. 666 is considered as the Mark of the BEAST, the mythological deceiver and destroyer of mankind. The statue of the Lord Shiva is also used to represent the organization. Shiva is the God of destruction. It should be noted that in astrology we are entering a time when Pluto is in conjunction with the North Node while transiting Capricorn. This signifies chaos, as it is heading right into the center or the heart of the BEAST and this happens exactly on November 11, where the soul’s path leads ultimately through the terror, corruption and misery that is deliberately instituted upon mankind.
In my last article, I looked at how all of the mythological and religious tales are really the “occultification” of the DNA manipulation, cloning, engineering and hybridization by the “Serpent Gods,” and how the Garden of Eden tale is symbolic of their devolution from a higher dimension and how 2012, represents the possibilities to ascend through the Sirius/Sol convergence. If you examine Carl Calleman’s Galactic Wave Movement diagram, then you will notice that the there is a Cosmic Convergence starting in July of 2010 that leads to a Universal Wave Movement and ultimately to the End of All Wave Movements. Calleman defines this moment as the “Gradual settings of Advanced sustainable ‘Garden of Eden.’” Although Calleman’s end date is October 28 2011, the Mayanism concepts revolves around the 2012 phenomenon and his definition justify my theory that all mythologies stem from a singular narrative and that the purpose for every religious construct is part of the deception within the matrix. Allegorical and metaphorical blueprints about humanity’s genetic engineering and transformation.
As I have indicated before, the only way to fulfill this ascension is through the orchestration of chaos. The acceleration of chaos to the point where humanity will have no choice but to yearn for the extraterrestrials to usher in peace following the World War and restore the ecology of the planet. A perfect synchronization of the mythological gods, the ancient alien astronauts and the modern extraterrestrial narrative of the Cosmic Christ. We have already seen where members of the exopolitical and ufological communities are getting excited like small kids in a candy store over the retired NORAD Officer Stanley Fulham’s claims about the Transcendors aliens that will renew the environment of Earth in 2015. Alfred Webre, who concocted the term “exopolitics,” even went as far as to declare that the rejection of the Initiative 300 to make an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver as “not helpful to ET plot to cleanse Earth’s environment.”
Fascinatingly, the Henoch Prophecies and the Plejaren predictions that was given to Billy Meier, the extraterrestrial contactee from Switzerland speaks of alien star nations intervening in human affairs if there is a major World War. The prophecies and predictions of this intervention echoes Calleman’s forecasts of the dissolution of the West, as the intervention by the star nations is done primarily for the countries of the so-called Third World and not those in the West. The prophecies even speaks of the rapturous ascension of those with higher vibrations by the aliens of the Ashtar Command, before the full assault of global war and “natural” disasters encompass the Earth. This also fits into another one of my theories that in-order to fully manifest this extraterrestrial narrative of a New World Order, then the United States of America would have to undergo monumental change. Which brings us back to President Obama, who is given the job to end America as we know it.

In conclusion, it seems that what we are looking at here is, the final orchestration of the plans within the Hegelian Dialectic to bring forth the Aeon of Horus through the stargate and under the guise of the disclosure of the extraterrestrial presence as saviors for a world in chaos.

According to Biblical prophecy, a rapid escalation of the worldwide socio-economic, geopolitical, geophysical and astrophysical events will occur prior to and leading up to the Second Advent or Second Coming of the the Messiah, Jesus Christ. In the Christian eschatology, this is commonly referred to as “Birth Pangs,” the convulsively intense spasms of frequently occurring events that are likened to the labor contractions experienced during the process of giving birth by a woman. In his sermon to his disciples at the Mount of Olives, Jesus foretold that these events would be the “beginning of sorrows,” a stage of gestation in which the accelerated activities and prolonged pain will finally usher in or give birth to a tribulationary period of global chaos and cataclysm. Based on the events and symbolism that I have detailed so far over the last year on this site and in this article, I refer to this period as “The Quickening,” the hasten sequence of a myriad of chaotic and seemingly divergent events pulsatingly converging towards a singular order or narrative. The embryonic development and birth of a grand thought for the New World Order of the Ages.
As I have indicated in the diagrams from Clif High of the Webbot Project, Carl Calleman and Terence McKenna, the death of the United States of America is the centerpiece of the modern part of the grand thought. America, once seen as the poster child for wealth production, creation and lifestyle; is now spiraling swiftly into a perpetual state of poverty and chaos under the presidency of Barack Obama. In a recent speech on Sunday in India, Obama acknowledged this decline in dominance.

China’s response through the Dagong Global Credit Rating Co. Ltd. to downgrade the local and foreign currency long-term sovereign of the US credit rating, with a extremely negative outlook, only serves as more evidence of the dissolution of the American Empire. “The serious defects in the US economy will lead to long-term recession and fundamentally lower the national solvency,… the credit crisis is far from over in the United States and the US economy will be in a long-term recession” Dagong said in a report.

The exercise will last until Wednesday and will likely impact traffic near the base.” Considering what happened on September 11, 2001 with the NORAD simulation exercises and other fake flag events, there is no telling what is at play here. Consider too, that on Monday, the US Government removed over 130 pounds of spent nuclear fuel from a shuttered area reactor. The highly enriched uranium was taken from an area that is currently surrounded by the highly populated suburbs of San Diego, California.

Speaking of California, on Monday night, a mysterious missile was launch off its southern coast, leaving a very large vapor trail over the Pacific Ocean. At the time of writing, the Pentagon, the Navy, NORAD and the Air Force have not told what was the purpose of the launch and who fired it.
A source of mine is also reporting that there have been a elevation in emergency action plans in and around New York lately, where a huge booklet on emergency papers entitled “The Emergency Action (EAP)” was distributed to several companies with the prominent headings of Chemical, Biological, Natural Disasters, Black Out and Nuclear show throughout its contents. Also, in a speech, delivered before major Jewish organization, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Iran the largest threat to his country and the world. “The first requirement of any living organism, of the people of any collective body, is to identify danger in time,” Netanyahu said. “The greatest danger facing Israel and the world is the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran.” Then, reports are coming out of Yemen of an Al Qaeda plot to plant explosives in Christmas gifts bound for America, Britain and Europe; timed to explode once they are place on show in the gift shops and stores.
This is pretty weird, especially when you consider that President Obama is now traveling with the critical United States nuclear button, as well as with warships and military weapon outfits. Isn’t it weird then that Netanyahu is in America when Obama is in Southern Asia? Further, the following question must be questioned, is someone tampering with America’s weapon system? Is it aliens? Remember that a group of former US officials recently claimed that unidentified flying objects interfered with America’s nuclear facilities, preventing the usage of nuclear weapons.

David Whitehouse: The Climate Coincidence: Why is the temperature unchanging?
From: The Global Warming Policy Foundation, 9 November 2010It seems probable that 2010 will be in terms of global annual average temperature statistically identical to the annual temperatures of the past decade. Some eminent climatologists, such as Professor Phil Jones of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit, suggest the global annual average temperatures haven’t changed for the past 15 years. We are reaching the point where the temperature standstill is becoming the major feature of the recent global warm period that began in 1980. In brief, the global temperature has remained constant for longer than it has increased. Perhaps this should not be surprising as in the seven decades since 1940 the world has gotten warmer in only two of them, and if one considers each decade individually the increase in temperature in each has barely been statistically significant. Only when the warming in the 1980’s is added to that of the first half of the 1990’s does the change exceed the noise in the system.
But what does this 10-15 year temperature standstill mean?
For some it means nothing. Ten to fifteen years is too short a time period to say anything about climate they would argue pointing out that at least thirty years is needed to see significant changes. They also point out that this decade is warmer than the 1990’s and the 1990’s were warmer than the 1980’s and that is a clear demonstration of global warming.
I know few who would argue that we don’t live in the warmest decade for probably a millennium and there are now few who would argue that the period of warming ended about a decade ago leaving us with a plateau of annual temperatures. However, there is information in the decadal structure of the present warming spell that can say something about what is happening.
All would agree that the global climate is changing constantly within certain limits due to the combination of anthropogenic and natural factors. The manmade factors are postulated to be responsible for climate change whereas the natural factors are taken to be agents of climate variability. The additional greenhouse effect caused by mankind’s emissions is a unique climatic forcing factor in that it operates in one direction only, that of increasing the temperature. If that is the case then something has been cooling the planet. We can say something about what is cooling the earth. The key point about the greenhouse effect in this context is that it depends upon one factor – the concentration of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.
In the past decade the atmospheric CO2 levels have increased from 370 ppm to 390 ppm and using those figure the IPCC once estimated that the world should have warmed by at least 0.2 deg C. The fact that the world has not warmed at all means that all the other climatic factors have had a net effect of producing 0.2 deg C of cooling.
But there is more. The counterbalancing climatic factors have not only compensated for the postulated AGW at the end of the decade they have kept the global annual average temperature constant throughout the past 10-15 years when the AGW effect wants to increase it. The key point that makes this constancy fascinating is that for every value of CO2 there is an equilibrium temperature that is higher the greater the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. In other words, the higher CO2 concentration at the end of the decade exerts a stronger climate forcing than at the beginning of the decade.
Mirror Image
This makes what has happened in the past decade all the more remarkable. Because the greenhouse effect wants to force the temperature up which in the absence of a cooling influence is what would have happened, the fact that the temperature has remained constant indicates that whatever has been cooling the planet has had to increase in strength at precisely the same rate as the CO2 warming in order to keep the temperature a constant straight line.
This means that for 10-15 years the combined effect of all the Earth’s climate variability factors have increased in such a way as to exactly compensate for the rise in temperature that the increased CO2 would have given us. It is not a question of the earth’s decadal climate cycles adding up to produce a constant cooling effect, they must produce an increasing cooling effect that increases in strength at exactly the same rate as the enhanced greenhouse effect so as to keep the earth’s temperature constant.
Can it really be the case that over the past 15 years the sum total of all the earth’s natural climatic variables such as changes in solar irradiance, volcanoes, the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, the North Atlantic Oscillation, and the Arctic Oscillation, all of which can change from cooling to warming over decadal timescales, have behaved in such as way as to produce a cooling effect that is the mirror image of the warming postulated by the anthropogenic climate forcings from CO2 and other greenhouse gasses, from the changing water vapour, from tropospheric ozone, and from a clearing aerosol burden?
Am I alone in thinking that in the dynamically changing global climate this looks like a contrived, indeed scientifically suspicious, situation?
Is it a coincidence that the human and natural factors balance out this way? I am reminded of a line written by Agatha Christie: “Any coincidence”, said Miss Marple to herself, “is always worth noticing. You can throw it away later if it is only a coincidence.”
Death toll from Indonesian volcano now at 56link
MOUNT MERAPI, Indonesia – The death toll from Indonesia's fiery volcano has climbed to 56 after a blistering gas cloud ripped through a mountainside village.Rescuers say at least 12 people were killed in the inferno and 50 others were hospitalized with injuries.
Men with ash-covered faces streamed down Mount Merapi on motorcycles followed by truckloads of women and crying children, following the massive eruption just before midnight Friday.
Waluyo Raharjo, a search and rescue official, said the bodies from the hard-hit village of Bronggang, located 9 miles (15 kilometers) from the crater, were being taken to a hospital morgue.
It was not immediately clear why families living within Merapi's "danger zone" had not been evacuated.

David Cameron urges China to correct trade imbalancelink
UK Prime Minister David Cameron has stepped into the row over "currency wars" with a warning that China should act to correct its trade imbalance.
In a speech at Peking University, he said that China's export success was a potential threat to other economies.China's huge trade surplus is in part attributed to the weakness of the yuan, which helps the country's exporters.
But ahead of the G20 summit, China's President Hu Jintao said countries must "face their own problems".
Latest figures show that China's trade surplus rose to $27bn (£17bn) in October, despite rapid economic growth in the country starting to cool.
Critics blame Beijing for keeping the yuan artificially low, which helps boost exports and has led to China building up massive amounts of foreign reserves.
Mr Cameron, who is leading a trade mission to the country, said he wanted "to make the positive case for the world to see China's rise as an opportunity, not a threat".
'Responsibilities' He said China can play a leading role in dealing with economic problems as the world emerges from recession.
But China's increasing economic muscle has given it "responsibilities" both economically and politically, said the prime minister.

Critics, especially in the US, have called for tariffs on Chinese imports unless the yuan is allowed to appreciate.

The issue will be a key topic at the G20 summit in South Korea on Thursday and Friday.
Interference However, in an interview with China's official Xinhua news agency, President Hu Jintao told countries to "face their own problems" rather than casting blame.
Separately, China's vice foreign minister Cui Tiankai rejected foreign interference in what Beijing regards as an internal matter.
"The recent crisis was certainly not caused by China's currency," he said in an interview.
An he warned that the summit should not descend into a row about currencies. If either side "chooses a confrontational approach, I think everybody will come out as losers", he said.
Meanwhile in London, Mervyn King, the governor of the Bank of England, also called for co-operation, not confrontation, at the summit.
"I hope that at the G20... we will get a co-operative message rather than some of those that we have been getting in the last few days and weeks."
But he said that the G20 must agree to let current account imbalances unwind, rather than impose targets and policy instruments.
This, he said, was in the collective interest.
"Unless we recognise that... then we will face a situation where more and more countries will resort to policy instruments that in the end will be damaging to everyone. It is that serious."
Anger as French pension age rises from 60 to 62link
France's opposition has attacked President Nicolas Sarkozy for signing into law a reform raising the minimum retirement age from 60 to 62.
The nationwide strikes and street protests which accompanied the reform's passage through parliament made it one of the biggest battles of his career.Mr Sarkozy argued the reform was necessary because of rising numbers of pensioners and greater life expectancy.
But Socialist leader Martine Aubry accused the president of "brutality".
"He thinks that by ploughing ahead regardless he is showing courage," she said.
"[True] courage would have been setting in place a reform which finally settles the pension problem."
The changes also mean those who want to claim full pension benefits must now wait until the age of 67 instead of 65.
The act became law when it was published on Wednesday, a day after being approved by France's constitutional court.
The measures will come into effect gradually from July of next year, and be fully enacted by 2018.
'Burning impatience' French workers will now have to work 41.5 years to receive a full state pension.
Unlike previous French presidents, Mr Sarkozy stood his ground, refusing to bend in the face of fierce opposition from the streets, the BBC's Christian Fraser reports from Paris.
His signature on the bill was always a formality, particularly since the parliamentary process had been fast-tracked to successfully draw the heat from the protest, our correspondent says.
There is no doubt the passage of the bill is a defining moment in Mr Sarkozy's presidency - it was a key part of his reform agenda and his credibility was on the line.
And his haste in signing the bill into law was surely connected to his burning impatience to reshuffle his cabinet in a bid to improve his own record low approval ratings, our correspondent adds.
'He does not listen' Trade unions held an eighth round of rallies and marches in French cities on Saturday but numbers were sharply down on previous demonstrations.
Both government and union estimates showed that Saturday's attendance was about a third that seen in mid-October.
Nonetheless, the unions have called another day of action for 23 November.
At their height, the French protests were the biggest seen in the EU during the current wave of austerity measures to cut debt and budget deficits after the global economic crisis.
Over two months of strikes and demonstrations caused chaos around the country, including blockades at fuel depots and oil refineries.
Cynthia Lerenard, a 22-year-old student demonstrating in Lyon on Saturday, said the protest was as much about President Sarkozy as his legislation.
"I'm here against the pension reform but I am also against the dictatorial methods of all the government reforms," she said.

On a day when the price of gold soared past $1,400 an ounce and oil hit high for the year, President Obama found himself in India Monday on the defensive over the Federal Reserve's decision last week to print more money so it can buy up $600 billion in government bonds -- a move Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke insists will stimulate an economy stuck in neutral.
While the White House traditionally steers clear of commenting directly on Fed actions, Obama insisted that "the Fed's mandate -- my mandate -- is to grow our economy. And that's not just good for the United States, that's good for the world as a whole."
Obama's comments came in the face of stepped up criticism from China, Russia and Germany over the Fed's decision and just days ahead of the all-important G-20 meeting of the world's leading economic powers. The summit has been pitched as a chance for leaders of the countries that account for 85 percent of world output to prevent a currency fight that could endanger the global economic recovery.
German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble lashed out at U.S. pressure on Berlin to rein in the country's surging exports, accusing Washington of hypocrisy and telling Der Spiegel magazine in an interview that ran over the weekend, "the American growth model … is stuck in a deep crisis," Reuters reported.
"It doesn't add up when the Americans accuse the Chinese of currency manipulation and then, with the help of their central bank's printing presses, artificially lower the value of the dollar," he told Reuters.
Data released Monday by Germany's federal statistical office showed the country's trade surplus shot up $23.42 billion in September, evidence that the German economy continues to rely on exports to drive its recovery, Reuters reported.
Obama took aim at the new report: "We can't continue to sustain a situation in which some countries are maintaining massive [trade] surpluses, others massive deficits, and there never is the kind of adjustments with respect to currency that would lead to a more balanced growth pattern."
The heightened rhetoric in the growing trade and currency battle came as gold prices topped $1,398 an ounce for the first time. Oil prices also shot up, to $87, the high for the year.
Some economists have warned that Bernanke's decision to have the Fed buy $600 billion in government bonds could do more than stimulate the economy -- it could also drive up food and energy prices, which would boost inflation, something that could further impede economic growth
